Shilajit

Sanskrit: शिलाजीत

(śilājatu), from शिला (śilā, “stone, rock”) +‎ जतु (jatu, “lac, gum, resin, rubber”). Known to decalcify the pineal gland, it has many spiritual benefits along with its health benefits. It has been used by monks and mountain people for millenia due to said benefits.

Also known as the “Conqueror of mountains, Conqueror of the Rocks, Destroyer of Weakness”; shilajit is a sticky black tar often found in the Himalayan Mountains, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Russia, Iran, Mongolia and in the south of Peru, where it is called Andean Shilajit. Also known as μούμια (Greek), Mumiyo (Russian), Brag-shun or Barakhshin (means “oil of the mountains” in South Siberian.

Shilajit is composed of 60% to 80% humic substances such as humic and fulvic acids. The mineral content is 15–20%, along with trace elements including Selenium. Therefore, Shilajit is rich in nutrients such as mineral salts, amino acids, etc., and other organic components including:
